You’ll visit the High Dam, which shielded Egypt from Nile floods, the ones that used to drown Egypt for months , and left so much water going to waste without being used. Aswan is the southernmost city in Egypt, it’s set near the first Nile waterfall, nearly a thousand kilometres away from Cairo, more or less.

Then you’ll head to the granite quarries where ancient Egyptians used to cut and move granite, so it could be used in building the great pyramids of Egypt, during the Old Kingdom of Egypt, history, and later for huge temples, massive pillars and obelisks, especially in the New Kingdom era.

Keep going on your Aswan tours to the Greco-Roman Philae temple, a place built and dedicated for the worship of Goddess Isis, it’s also one of the 4 sites where the story of Isis, Osiris, and Horus is said to happen.

Day 9:
Fayoum Day tour from Cairo

Early in the morning, the guide and driver will meet you at your hotel in Cairo or Giza. After that, they will take you, in a comfortable air-conditioned car, toward Fayoum, to see the most beautiful tourist places there. For Wadi El-Rayan, you will ride in an air-conditioned 4-wheel safari vehicle, so it feels smooth even with the desert roads.

Wadi El Rayan, where two lakes are connected by waterfalls, is really a beautiful sight. The water area seems to plunge into Egypt’s western desert, at an altitude of about 42 meters below sea level. It was created around 1970 because of heavy, excessive production of wastewater from farms in Fayoum, and honestly it gives you a view you can’t see anywhere else. (The waterfalls in the middle of the desert are amazing!) Then we will continue to Wadi Whalean, by driving along the road to Wadi Whalean, where whale skeletons are literally everywhere and you can take pictures from almost any angle. This is a 40 km trail inside the Wadi El Rayan Nature Reserve, also called Wadi El Hitan, and it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

On the way, there will be a stop at Al-Mudawara Mountain, which is located west of Fayoum Lake. It’s a wonderful viewpoint overlooking wide landscapes and gentle views. From there, we will go and explore the Wadi Whale National Park, an open museum in the history of Egypt, dating back about 40 million years. It’s also one of those ancient places on earth that shows the evolution of whales.

More than 400 species, including whale and dugong skeletons, plus other bones, shells, and plant fossils—some preserved inside soft rock—have been identified here.

After the 4-wheel drive tour, once it is finished, we will go for lunch and later enjoy Bedouin afternoon tea in the village of Tunis. After the day ends, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Cairo.

Day 10:
The White Desert and Bahariya Oasis Overnight from Cairo

Start your day around 07:00 am, as your personal tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo, then transfer you to the Bahariya Oasis, about 360 km east of Cairo. When you arrive, the White Desert and Bahariya Oasis Overnight from Cairo starts right away, because you will enjoy lunch that will be served in the Bahariya Oasis. After that, we will visit the exhibition hall of the Golden Mummies Museum. Next, you will see the ruins of the Temple of Alexander the Great that are also found here in Bahariya Oasis. Then we continue to explore the tombs of the nobles in Bahariya Oasis, dating back to the 26th dynasty of Egypt’s history. It is an important burial site, which includes the tomb of Bannantiu, in the Western Desert of Egypt. You will also enjoy the tours at the Temple of Muftella, that was established by the kings and rulers of ancient Egypt.

Later, you will have your yummy lunch in an Oasis-style restaurant, and then we move to the White Desert to see the Valley of El Haize, south of the oasis. Along the way, we can stop for a quick dip in the warm water spring. The village feels like a paradise in the middle of the desert, leading toward the Black Desert, where the mountains have been gradually worn down by natural agents, so the area is covered with black rocks and dust. Then, we stop to see the shapes of the beautiful Crystal Mountain, and also the impressive Valley of Agabat. This valley is located on the route between the Bahariya and Farafra oases, near Crystal Mountain and the White Desert.

We will enjoy camping in the White Desert, with a very good chance to watch an astonishing sunset view, while your local guides get everything ready and prepare your dinner.

That night, you will spend time looking at the wondrous stars, and overnight in the camp.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 11:
Back to Cairo

Today you will have your local organic breakfast in the White Desert during your Cairo Excursions, while you enjoy the marvelous atmosphere. After that , you will continue your Cairo Day Tours to see those impressive white limestone rocks, which are basically the reason the White Desert was called like that. Then you’ll be transported back to Cairo through the Black Desert, and it feels kinda smoother somehow.

We will also make a stop in Bahariya Oasis to enjoy the salt lake, and to look at the fruit fields plus those stunning sand dunes. Afterward we’ll start driving back to the Cairo hotel, it takes about four hours, and that will be the end of our 2 Days to the White Desert and Bahariya Oasis, among the lot of tours from Cairo.
