4 Days Wheelchair Accessible trip from Alexandria to Cairo

Alexandria International Airport is the place you are heading to, and once you arrive you will see our representative there holding a signboard with your name ( a little confusing at first but its ok ) to transfer you to your hotel. Today, after enjoying your breakfast, your tour guide will transfer you to Pompey’s Pillar, the tallest memorial monument in the world. Our first destination on this day.

There, you’ll Explore the ruins, and honestly, the whole area around Pompey’s Pillar is filled with ancient remains. You can see a sphinx and several other structures, visitors can wander slowly through the ruins and try to imagine what life was like in ancient Alexandria, it feels kinda surreal in a good way.

Also, you can take photos. Pompey’s Pillar and the surrounding ruins provide plenty of opportunities for photography. Visitors can try panoramic shots of the broad area, or take close up pictures of the detailed carvings on the column.  

After that we will take you to The Citadel of Qaitbey. It is considered one of the most important defensive fortresses. There, you can learn about the citadel’s past through the different exhibits in the museum, which include artifacts and weapons from the fortress history. You can also climb to the top of the citadel and take in the breathtaking views.

Then continue our trip to one of the largest and most important libraries on the planet, Bibliotheca Alexandrina. There you will be able to Explore the library, and Visit the planetarium too, which offers a range of shows and exhibitions about astronomy and space science.

At the end of our day, we will take you to have lunch at a seafood restaurant.

After breakfast, you’ll check out from the hotel, and you will be transported to Cairo with our licensed tour guide and personal driver. The travel time between Cairo and Alexandria, which is 216 square kilometers, can take up to 2.5 hours, depending on the state of the roads ,and you know, traffic mood.

On arrival, we will take you to the Giza Pyramids to see the three pyramids. There you can see the Great Pyramid of Cheops, built from over 3 million stone blocks and considered an engineering marvel. You’ll also see the Pyramid of Chephren, which is a bit smaller in dimension but still very prominent, and the Pyramid of Mycerinus, who was the holder of the throne of Egypt during the same 4th dynasty, (yes it’s history but still).

After that, you will visit the Grand Egyptian Museum, where you can explore the museum’s exhibits, and view the King Tutankhamun collection, including his sarcophagus as well as various other artifacts from his tomb. You can get a close look at these impressive treasures, and learn about the life and legacy of this famous pharaoh.

After taking your tasty delicious lunch in a very good-class restaurant, we will take you back to Alexandria.
