Join us for a fun 3 day trip for the whole family across Egypt’s west side. You will see wide desert scenes and quiet green spots with palm trees. Everything is made to feel easy and comfy. You will get the strange beauty of the sands and also time for family friendly sights and nature.
What you will do
White Desert walk and camp time: Travel into the desert to see chalk hills shaped by wind. The bright white ground looks unreal. You can camp there and explore. It is a great place for kids and adults alike.
Bahariya Oasis day: Visit Bahariya Oasis and enjoy its cool springs and local life. Families can try activities like sandboarding on tall dunes. You can also look for local animals around the area.
Fayoum nature sights: Spend time in Fayoum, known for calm desert lakes and water features. You can see peaceful lake views, waterfall spots, and learn about the area’s old rock history.
Itinerary
Day 1:

You will leave at 06:00 am and drive to Bahariya Oasis. It is about 350 km to the east of Cairo. The start is based on the time planned from your place in Giza or Cairo. On the way, there will be breaks for rest and coffee. You will reach your 4x4 Jeep at about 10:00 am. Then you will push into the dark desert.
At 12:00 pm you will arrive at El Haize Oasis. Lunch will be served there.
By 15:00 pm you will get to the Valley of Agabat. It sits inside the white desert. This stop feels unreal, even if you have seen deserts before. Long ago, this area had water covering it. Over millions of years, new rock shapes formed. You can see limestone and chalk, plus some sand stone.
At 16:30 you will visit the White Desert. It is the best known desert area in Egypt and it is part of a national park.
After that, you will make camp. Watch the sunset as the day fades. The sky shifts from light pink to deep orange. The silence is strong out there. You will sit near a small fire and have chicken with rice and vegetables. The Bedouin team will handle the meal and the desert camping.

Your breakfast time is 6:00 a.m. It will be in the desert. After that, you will head to Bahariya Oasis by car.
At 09:00, you will make a stop at Crystal Mountain. Some people also call it Gebel al-Izzaz. On the return trip, the hill sits to the right. The rock is quartzite. Those crystals are why it has the name “the Jewel of the Desert”. When the sun hits it, the view looks bright and striking. This spot was found by chance not long ago.
Next, at 11:00, you will drive to Bahariya Oasis. You will rest at Bir Sigam. It is a hot spring. You soak in the hot water there. It has the best heat level of the springs nearby. Bir Sigam lies on the Cairo Road, about 7 km east of Bahariya.
Afterward, you will drive back to the Bahariya hotel and stay overnight.

You will ride in a private, air-cooled car to Lake Qarun. Your driver will meet you at your hotel in Bahariya. As you leave the town, the streets slowly give way to fruit trees and wide green plots. Along the edges of this salty lake, you may spot flamingos, ibis, and black-necked grebes.
Next, you will head to the local museum. There you can see Fayoum mummy portraits that feel striking and lifelike. You will also notice cloth artworks that show clear Greco-Roman touches. Walk through the rooms with your guide and hear the story behind the area’s past. Make sure you also look at the statue set taken from nearby digs.
After that, you will stop for lunch at a nearby eatery. You will have an Egyptian-style meal before you go on to Wadi El-Rayan. This desert place has man-made waterfalls that sit in the sand.
Later, you will cruise on a felucca. It is a simple wooden sailboat, with a rigged sail made for smooth travel on the water.
When the day ends, you will return to your hotel in Cairo.
