4-Day Cairo and Alexandria Family Tour

Take a 5-day trip that's very interesting through Egypts most famous ancient cities. This trip mixes the history from the Mediterranean area with the impressive ancient places in the Giza Plateau. Start in Alexandria, which was an important place in the ancient world and then go to Cairo to see the big pyramids. This trip gives a way to see history and culture.

Highlights of Your Journey

Alexandrias Ancient and Modern Wonders: Start in the old capital of the Ptolemaic dynasty. See the version of the ancient library that was very famous called the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

The Citadel of Qaitbay: See the fortress from the 15th century that was built on the old place of the famous lighthouse of Alexandria. This lighthouse was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Pompeys Pillar: Look at this important column made of granite that stands over the old ruins of the Serapeum of Alexandria.

The Giza Pyramids: Go to Cairo to see the amazing pyramids. These pyramids are known as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

The Egyptian Museum: End your trip at the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, in Tahrir Square. This museum has a lot of treasures and special items from the time of the pharaohs.

Itinerary

Day 1:
Arrive in Alexandria

Welcome to Egypt.

When you land at Alexandria International Airport, also known as Borg El Arab, a guide will be waiting for you. He speaks English and works with New Dynamics Travel. He will help you with the entry steps. After that, you will travel by private car to your hotel.

You will check in and stay overnight in Alexandria.

We will also go over the 4-Day Cairo and Alexandria Family Tour with you. If you want to change a pick-up time, you can. Just note that it should not slow down or change our sightseeing plans in Egypt.

Day 2:
Alexandria city tour

On your second Cairo day tour, you will have breakfast at your hotel in the morning. After that, your guide will move you to Pompey’s Pillar. This is the tallest memorial monument in the world, and it will be our first stop.

At Pompey’s Pillar, you can spend time looking closely at the column. It is a striking sight. Walk around the base and take in the scale. Notice the carved details as you move around the site.

Next, we will go to the Citadel of Qaitbey. This defensive fortress is one of the most important in the area. Here, you can explore the citadel itself. The buildings and layout feel like impressive old architecture. You can walk along the walls and see the towers. Inside, you can also visit different rooms and spaces, including a mosque, a prison area, and a museum.

After that, we will continue to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. This is one of the largest and most important libraries. It is a great place if you like culture, learning, and history. There is a lot to see, and you can stay busy while you visit. The library also offers a look into Egypt’s cultural life and its long tradition of ideas.

When the day ends, we will take you for lunch at a seafood restaurant.

Day 3:
Giza Pyramids & Grand Egyptian Museum

After breakfast at the hotel, your guide will meet you. Your personal driver will also be there. Together, you will continue your trip in Cairo.

First, you will head from Cairo to Alexandria. The total distance is about 216 km. The drive usually takes around 2.5 hours. The exact time can change because of the road.

When you arrive in Cairo, you will start with the Giza Pyramids. This is one of the best known landmarks on the planet. You can walk near the pyramids and look around the outer area. If you want, you may also go inside a few of them. That part is optional.

Next, you will visit the new Grand Egyptian Museum, called GEM. You will have time to see the halls and the displays. The museum shows many ancient Egyptian items. You can view mummies, statues, jewelry, and other artifacts from different periods.

Before you return to Alexandria, you will have lunch.

Day 4:
Final Departure

Once you finish your breakfast at the hotel, someone will drive you to Alexandria International Airport. From there, you will board your flight and head back home.
