7 Days in Egypt During the Easter

When you arrive at Cairo International Airport, a member of our team will meet you. They will guide you to your hotel in Cairo or Giza.

At the hotel, you will receive a welcome drink. After that, they will talk with you about your plans for the trip. They will also check that everything is running smoothly. They will help you with hotel check-in so it goes fast.

If you want, you can book a sound and light show at the Pyramids, or in Cairo. You can also visit Cairo Tower and use the Cairo Tower Information page to plan. Then you may walk through downtown at night for a short visit.

Stay overnight in Cairo.

After breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you outside. Then you will head to Alexandria for a full day of sights.

Alexandria used to be known far and wide. Long ago, it had a tall lighthouse that people talked about as one of the grandest works of its time. The city also had a large library with many books. At that point in history, it was said to be the largest library in the world. There were also underground spaces known as catacombs.

When you arrive in Alexandria, you will visit The Catacombs Of Kom El Shoqafa. These catacombs were discovered by chance in 1900. A donkey fell through an opening in the ground. The sites are among the largest Roman burial places in Egypt. They were made long ago in line with ancient Egyptian beliefs.

Next, you will see Pompey's Pillar. It was put up to honor a Roman ruler. It was also linked to events in the city, including a serious revolt.

Later, you will walk around The Citadel Of Qaitbey. From there, you can enjoy clear ocean views. The citadel was built in 1477 on top of the older Pharos lighthouse.

You will stop for a nice lunch at a great restaurant. Then you will visit Bibliotheca Alexandrina. This place recalls the old library, which was well known and important for learning. It was connected to a wider site called the Mouseion, focused on art and creative work.

After the visits, you will return to your hotel in Cairo.

Your Egyptologist will meet you after breakfast. Then you will head to a guided visit of the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza. It has a vast display of things linked to the pharaohs, from long ago. You will also see items from earlier times, and later periods when Egypt was under Greek and Roman rule.

Next, you will start your trip through Islamic Cairo. First stop will be the Citadel of Saladin.

There once was a fort called the Salah El Din Citadel, also known as the Citadel of Cairo. It is a large defense place that was built many years in the past. Its goal was to help protect Egypt during the time of the Crusaders. Within the walls, you will find the Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque. This mosque was made by Mohammed Ali. He lived in the year 1830.

After that, you will pause for lunch. After you eat, you will continue with the Coptic Cairo, also called Old Cairo tour.

You will spend time in Islamic Cairo. You will walk down the oldest street in the area. The street feels like an open walk through old Islamic buildings. You will pass an old market and also a well known mosque. Later, you can rest at Al Fishawy Cafe in Khan El Khalili. It is said to be Egypt’s oldest cafe in that area.

At the end, you will be taken back to the hotel for the night.

We will begin the trip now. First, we head to the Valley of the Kings, where pharaohs were laid to rest long ago. You will enter three tombs that are truly impressive.

Next, we visit the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahri, a site often known as the Northern Monastery. After that, you will see the Colossi of Memnon. These are large statues close to the Nile.

After the sights, you will have lunch at a good restaurant in Luxor. Then we continue to Karnak Temple, located on the east bank of Luxor. This temple complex was built more than 2000 years ago by many rulers of ancient Egypt. You will walk past the Avenue of the Sphinx. You will also visit the Hypostyle Hall with its huge columns. There is the largest standing obelisk in Egypt, made by Queen Hatshepsut. You will see the temple of Amon, decorated with lotus and papyrus patterns. Your guide will show you the Granite Scarab of Amenophis III and the sacred lake inside the grounds.

Your guide will pick you up at the hotel. Then you will go to the airport in Cairo. From there, you fly to Luxor. When you land, we will meet you at the airport. We take you to your hotel, so you can rest if you feel tired.

Wake up early and catch the 7:00 am flight from Luxor to Aswan. After a bit of paperwork, you will go on a 3 hour drive from Aswan back to Luxor.

First stop is the Aswan High Dam. It is a large dam and it supports the country’s growth. It also matters in recent Egyptian history. Your local guide will then bring you onto a boat for a visit to the Philae Temple, also called the Temple of Isis.

At Philae, you will see monuments from many eras. There are signs from the time of the Pharaohs. You can also find marks from the Greek and Roman period. Later, the site includes traces from when Christians lived in the area. During the same day, you will visit other major places, including the Kom Ombo Temple, the Temple of Sobek and Horus. You will also see the temple of Hathor. There is even a separate structure known as the Kiosk.

Once the Aswan visits wrap up for the day, you will sit down for lunch. After that, you will be taken to your hotel in Aswan. You can check in and take time to rest.

Overnight in Aswan

At the Abu Simbel Temples, you will see structures built under Ramses II. There are special parts made for him, and you can look around and hear details from our Egyptologist. First, you will have a tasty meal.  

This is a large temple complex carved into a rock by Ramses II. He made it for himself and for his wife, Queen Nefertari.  

After your visit, you will return to Aswan. Then you will fly back to Cairo.  

When you arrive at Cairo International Airport, the tour leader will meet you. Next, you will be driven to your hotel. You will check in there and sleep overnight.

Before you head out from Egypt, you can eat a nice breakfast at the hotel.

After your day in Cairo, plus your dinner on the Nile cruise, our guide will meet you at the agreed time. They will take you to Cairo International Airport for your final travel.
