4 Days Egypt Easter tour to Cairo, White desert, and Alexandria

On your day in Cairo we will take you on a private excursion to the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx. Our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel at eight

Your first stop is the Great Pyramid of Giza the largest and oldest pyramid in the Giza pyramid complex. The Great Pyramid of Giza is also known as the Pyramid of Khufu or the Pyramid of Cheops. The Great Pyramid of Giza is the only complete survivor of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Your first stop on your Egypt tour is the Great Pyramid of Giza one of the famous and impressive ancient structures in the Giza pyramid complex. The Great Pyramid of Giza is a member of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. This amazing monument is an impressive site and it is an excellent place to start your tour of the Giza complex.

Next we will visit the Pyramid of Chephren. The Pyramid of Chephren is the tallest and second largest of the three ancient Egyptian pyramids at Giza and it houses the tomb of Fourth-Dynasty pharaoh Khafre (Chefren) who ruled between 2558 and 2532 BC. After the Pyramid of Chephren we will visit the Pyramid of Mykerinus.

We will also visit the King Chephren Valley Temple. Visiting the King Chephren Valley Temple will give you a view of the Great Sphinx, a legendary guardian that watches over a large burial complex and has a lion body and the head of King Chephren on its forehead. After that we will go on a camel ride near the Giza Pyramids.

Next we will visit The Egyptian Museum. The Egyptian Museum houses a collection of more than 250,000 real artefacts that date back 5,000 years. The Egyptian Museum also has a display for Tutankhamen showing a variety of artefacts, jewellery and gold that were uncovered in 1920 during the excavation of his tomb.

We will drive to the Saladin Citadel, which Salah al-Din built in 1183 AD to defend against Crusader forces. The Saladin Citadel is now a preserved area with mosques and museums including the Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha. The Saladin Citadel is renowned for its air and sweeping views of Cairo.

You will have lunch in a restaurant.

Next we will head to Old Cairo to explore some of Cairo’s famous landmarks, such as the Hanging Church Ben Ezra Synagogue, Church of St. Barbara and Church of Abu Serga, one of the first Coptic churches in the city.

If you visit Khan el-Khalili you will enjoy one of the most fascinating markets in the Middle East. You will explore the maze of passages that has been the centre of commerce in Cairo for centuries.

Finally we will return to your hotel, in Cairo for the night.

We will have a meet you at your hotel in Giza or Cairo to start your Bahariya Oasis tour. The trip to the White Desert and the Bahariya oasis takes four hours. Soon as you arrive at Bahariya Oasis your safari guide will meet you and take you in a 4x4 Jeep to begin your journey.

Take a trip to the desert by car. This area gets its name from the layer of black powder that covers all the mountains, hills and dunes there. At the El Haize oasis you’ll have lunch. The peaks of mountains are covered in this fine black powder.

A soak in a spring can help you relax before lunch and feel less stressed right away. The heat brings a feeling of calm. It helps you feel peaceful, contented and quiet. You’ll make a stop at Gebel al-Izzaz also known locally as Crystal Mountain. The hill’s name, "The Jewel of the Desert " comes from the quartzite crystals that form the hill. These crystals reflect light beautifully when the sun shines on them. They are unique to this place. Were discovered just a few decades ago.

If you're looking for an breathtaking place to stay in the middle of the white desert head to the Valley of Agabat. There you'll find a landscape shaped over millions of years by water. After your visit enjoy a trip down the Wadi el Agabat using a 4x4 Jeep to see all the sights.

We’ll take a tour of the White Desert National Park, one of the famous desert locations in Egypt.

The land here is filled with animal-themed images that create an powerful gallery. You’ll see shapes like a sphinx, a tent, camels and mushrooms carved into the rock.

Then you will be transferred back, to Cairo.

Our day will begin at 7:00 am with a meeting at your accommodation in Cairo. An Egyptologist will pick you up. Take you about 220 kilometers northwest to Alexandria. This is a place to start your private tour from Cairo. The Kom el Shoqafa catacomb is believed by archaeologists to have been built in the second century A.D. And used to hold the dead for around 200 years. At that time Alexandria was a city where many cultures mixed in a way. The ancient history of Egypt which goes back 4,000 years was still much part of the scene.

Next we will visit the Pompey Pillar. The name comes from the story that the Roman general Pompey may have been buried there after he fled to Egypt and died following his defeat by Caesar in Greece. The red granite column was likely built as a tribute to Diocletian the Great. It stands at 25 meters tall. Is the tallest ancient monument in Alexandria today.

After that we will go to the Qeitbay Citadel. This fortress was built in the century by Mamlouk Sultan Qeitbay to protect Alexandria from the threat of Crusaders. The citadel was constructed using the ruins of the Lighthouse of Alexandria which Ptolemy II had built in the third century B.C. It is an example of Islamic architecture.

Then we will stop for lunch at an Egyptian restaurant. The food will be delicious. Give you a taste of local flavors.

After lunch we will head to the Library of Alexandria. This library was reopened in October 2002 aiming to bring its former glory. The building is not beautiful but also a large complex that brings together art, history, philosophy and science. It has become a hub for discussion, understanding and learning thanks to the wide range of activities it offers.

Finally we will return to your hotel in Cairo. You will spend the night there ending an rich day of exploration, in Alexandria.

 Breakfast will be provided at the hotel on the last day of your Tour. Please be sure to leave the hotel by 12:00 PM so that you have time to take one of our optional day trips in Cairo.
