We start in the morning. Your driver will pick you up at your hotel in Cairo. Then we go by car to Alexandria with your own private guide. When you arrive, you will tour a few of the main sights in Alexandria, starting with:
Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa
This is a Roman burial place. You can see how Egyptian and Roman styles came together in the family tombs. Walk down below the ground. Visit the tomb area and Caracalla Hall.
Pompey's Pillar
This tall column is made of granite. It is about 82 feet, or 25 meters. It was built to honor Emperor Diocletian. He lifted the siege of the city and helped bring food to people who were running out.
Qaitbay Citadel
This fort sits along the Mediterranean coast. It dates to the 15th century. In 1477 AD, Sultan Al-Ashraf Qa'it Bay had it built. The citadel stands where the Pharaoh's Island is said to have been.
