Itinerary
In the morning, you will be met by a professional tour guide to discover the most important and stunning sites of Aswan. First, you will visit the Philae temple, which is one of the most significant archaeological sites, as it was a center for the worship of Isis. This island temple was considered sacred from the Pharaonic time through to the Roman and Byzantine eras, and all the civilizations that had an influence on Egypt during these periods left some architectural features there. One of the finest and most significant monuments in Nubia.
Then you will visit the High Dam of Aswan, which is one of the most amazing and huge engineering projects in modern Egypt. The construction of the High Dam across the Nile between 1960 and 1970 helped to support and grow Egypt's economy. From the top of the dam, you can have the chance to see Lake Nasser, which is one of the largest artificial lakes in the world.
Next is a visit to the Unfinished Obelisk, a famous ancient granite construction. The massive structure was about 42m. This ancient granite represents how they carved the obelisks straight from bedrock, and if it were finished, it would have been the biggest and heaviest ever made. At the end of the tour, you will be returned to your hotel in Aswan.
