Itinerary

Day 1:
Aswan Sightseeing Tour

Start your day early with your private guide. You will begin an Aswan sightseeing tour and see key spots around town.

First stop: Aswan High Dam.
This dam stands on the Nile near Aswan. It was built from 1960 to 1970. It changed both the economy and the daily life of people in Egypt.

Next, visit the Unfinished Obelisk.
This is the biggest obelisk left from ancient times. It was commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut, dated 1508 to 1458 BC. It was meant to match the Lateran Obelisk, which once stood at Karnak. Later, the Lateran Obelisk was taken to the Lateran Palace in Rome.

Around midday: Lunch time.
Have lunch at a local restaurant in Aswan. After that, continue to your next stop.

Philae Temple is next.
The site is linked with the goddess Isis of Love and beauty. The temple grounds were taken apart and moved to Agilkia Island. This happened under the UNESCO Nubia Campaign plan. The goal was to save Philae and other nearby complexes before the 1970 completion of the Aswan High Dam.

At the end, you will be taken back to your hotel or your Nile cruise. Then your Aswan sightseeing tour will finish.
