The Best of Egypt Tour: Cairo, Nile Cruise & Sharm El Sheikh

Your tour guide will meet you and give assistance at Cairo International Airport, specifically during arrival procedures. Then he will escort you to the hotel using an exclusive air conditioned deluxe vehicle. Once you arrive, the tour guide will help you with a smooth check-in, and also review your holiday itinerary with you, in order to set and confirm the pick-up times for each tour.

After a really nice wholesome breakfast at your hotel, your personal guide will sort of lead you out to the Giza Plateau, so you can begin your adventure, by just standing there and marveling at one of the Seven Wonders of the World , the Great Pyramids of Giza. You will also have time to see the famous Sphinx and the Valley Temple. Once the pyramid part is done, you’ll enjoy lunch at a proper Egyptian restaurant, authentic in every sense, and afterwards you’ll go to the New Grand Egyptian Museum. This is Egypt’s newest landmark, placed only two kilometers from the pyramids, and it’s also one of the world’s largest, more advanced archaeological museums— it holds over 100,000 artifacts, across 5,000 years. There is even the full Tutankhamun collection, shown together for the first time. Finally, you return back to your hotel.

After a hearty Egyptian breakfast, your expert guide will take you in a kind of slow mood to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, where the royal mummies are and there’s also a really remarkable collection, that shows the diverse story of Egypt. From there you’ll go to Old Cairo, where you’ll wander around and see some of the oldest churches in the country, it’s kind of unreal.  

After that, you’ll stop for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant then keep going, through all those eras with a visit to the impressive Salah El-Din Citadel. There you’ll look closely at the grand Mohammed Ali Mosque and then you can enjoy sweeping panoramic views across Cairo, from the highest points.

Today you’ll be leaving Cairo, and you’re heading out toward Luxor that shining city, kind of yes, it feels like a change of pace. You will meet your tour guide early in the morning at your hotel, and he will accompany you to Cairo International Airport for your trip to Luxor. Once you land in Luxor, you’ll be helped right away and then gently whisked away in an exclusive air-conditioned vehicle, so you can get onto your luxurious Nile cruise—Salacia—which will give you a special experience sailing along the Nile, with top-notch service, fine gastronomy and comfortable accommodation throughout your stay.

You’ll enjoy a delicious lunch onboard before you move out to your first stop in Upper Egypt, which is the famous Karnak Temple, and also Luxor Temple on the East Bank. After that you return back to your cruise, and then you enjoy a warm dinner that’s hand-crafted, the kind that feels personal.

Have your first breakfast on board while the Nile is still, like really calm, all around you. After breakfast, you will go out and wander the West Bank of Luxor, not in a rush. First stop is the Royal Cemetery, where 62 Pharaohs are laid to rest, then you continue to the Valley of the Kings. Next you head to the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, built by New Kingdom architects in the 15th century BCE at Deir El-Bahari , yes there it is. To wrap up, you stand in awe before the towering Colossi of Memnon, they’re something else.

Once your visits on the West Bank are done, return back to your cruise. Then start sailing toward Edfu, and between the scenery you can enjoy a tasty lunch on board. After that, relax for the rest of the day as you glide along the water; use the amazing facilities of the cruise, grab some afternoon tea , or get a massage. Let yourself unwind in the Jacuzzi, it feels good in a quiet way. Finish the day with a filling dinner served on board.

You’ll have a magnificent time during a horse driven carriage ride , going back and forth to the temple, and you can just marvel at the everyday rhythms of Upper Egypt’s local life.

Walk through the quiet slow paced countryside, past farmers and fishermen, then let the scenery settle in— lush, fertile stretches with banana groves and date palm trees scattered everywhere. After the visit, return to the cruise and get ready to sail toward your next stop, Kom Ombo.

Touch down on the Kom Ombo shores , and then wander through the town with the locals, until you reach the strange, yet impressive Kom Ombo temple. It has two matching entrances, plus hypostyle halls and sanctuaries that feel oddly specific and very old. Afterward, go back to your cruise where you’ll enjoy a tasty lunch while the ship continues on to Aswan. By the time evening arrives, enjoy a warm, satisfying dinner with the calm, peaceful Nile water around you.

After seeing those, you’ll return to your cruise and savor a satisfying dinner right in the center of the Nile, with the water all around you, like a calm, shining wall.

Spend a free day in Sharm El Sheikh, or maybe join our optional excursion to one of the natural wonders of Sinai, the Colored Canyon feels majestic. Take a slow walk between dramatic sandstone canyon walls, lined with melting yellows purples reds magentas and gold. In some spots the canyon walls rise as high as 40 meters, and somehow you get this sense like you are standing inside a spectacular coloring book, just there with you.

Have breakfast at your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh, and then you will be transferred to Sharm El Sheikh Airport for your flight to Cairo.
