Itinerary

Day 1:
Marsa Alam-Luxor

At 04:00 Am we will pick you up from Marsa Alam by air-conditioned taxi. Breakfast at your hotel then transfer with your guide to visit the west bank of Luxor including

The Valley of Kings:

Once called the Place of the Truth this valley is called now the valley of the Kings. It is a domain of the Pharaohs who once lay in great stone sarcophagi awaiting immortality. The isolated valley behind Deir el Bahri is dominated by the Pyramid-Shaped Mountain Peak.

The Colossi of Memnon:

pair statues known as the Colossi of Memnon rising about 18 meters from the plain they are the remains of what was once the largest complex on the west bank. Built by Amenhotep the Third.

The Queen Hatshepsut Temple:

Rising out of the desert plain in a series of terraces the temple of Hatshepsut merges with limestone cliffs of the eastern face of the Theban Mountain. As if Nature herself had built this monument.

Lunch in Luxor then proceed to visit

Luxor Temple:

Largely built by the New Kingdom Pharaoh Amenhotep the Third and completed by King Tutankhamon and the Great King Ramses the Second. The first pylon was raised by Ramses the Second. Decorated with his military battle of Kadesh.

Karnak Temple:

Karnak is more than a temple; it is a complex of sanctuaries, kiosks, pylons and obelisks. All dedicated to the Theban gods and to the glory of Egypts Pharaohs. Karnak was the important place for the worship of the Theban Triad (Amen, Mut and Khonsu).

Overnight, in Luxor

Day 2:
Aswan sightseeing

An optional tour: Hot air balloon ride

After breakfast, you drive from Luxor to Aswan. The trip takes about 3 hours and 30 minutes.

In Aswan, you will see a few sites:

Philae Temple
Philae was built for the goddess Isis. It is considered the last temple made in the old classical Egyptian style. Work started around 690 BC. This was also one of the last places where Isis was still honored.

High Dam
The Aswan High Dam is a rock fill dam at the north edge between Egypt and Sudan. It is supplied by the Nile River. The water creates Lake Nasser. The project began in 1960 and finished in 1968. It was opened in 1971.

Unfinished Obelisk
Aswan is known for granite from ancient Egypt. That stone was used for statues and for decorating temples, pyramids, and obelisks. The big unfinished obelisk in the Northern Quarries gives clues about how these monuments were made, but the full method is still not fully understood. Three sides of the shaft were done, and each side was about 42 meters long. Only the inscriptions were left out. The finished obelisk would have weighed about 1168 tonnes. That would have been the heaviest block of stone the Egyptians are known to have shaped.

12:00 Lunch on the cruise

16:00 Sailing by felucca around Elephantine Island
You will also visit Lord Kitchener Island.

You can add an optional stop at the Nubian village
The Nubian village is a well known attraction in Aswan. Plan around 2 hours there. The area feels real and is full of color and craft. You will notice artistic details in every small corner. When you walk through, you can feel the character of the place.

Overnight in Basama Hotel

Day 3:
Aswan- Abu simble- Marsa Alam

I will pick you up at 04:00 AM from your hotel in Aswan. We will order a breakfast box from the hotel in Aswan. Then I will drive you to Abu Simbel, which is located 280 kilometers south of Aswan.

Abu Simbel temples:

The two temples of Ramses the second and the Queen Nefertari were carved out of the mountain on the west bank of the Nile between 1274 and 1244 B.C. The Great Temple of Abu Simbel was dedicated to Ramses the second Ra-Harakhty, Amun Ra and Ptah. It features four colossal statues. The second temple of Abu Simbel was dedicated to Queen Nefertari and Goddess Hathor. Abu Simbel temples were dismantled stone by stone. Rebuilt on higher ground. The preservation of Abu Simbel temples must rank as the achievement of UNESCO.

Lunch in a restaurant, in Aswan.

Then I will drive you to Marsa Alam. You will arrive at your hotel around 20:30.
