We start early. A driver will meet you at your hotel in Marsa Alam. You will ride in a private, air conditioned car to Luxor. The trip includes an overnight stay.
When you arrive, your own guide will be with you. You will visit these places.
Karnak Temple
Karnak feels huge when you first see it. It is the biggest temple site made by people in Egypt. It shows what many builders and pharaohs created over many years. The Karnak Temple area is not just one place. It includes three main temple areas, smaller inner temples, and extra outer temples. All of it covers about 247 acres.
Luxor Temple
Luxor Temple was linked to one major festival. That festival was Opet. The temple was made mostly by Amenhotep III and Rameses II. Its role was to support the rituals of the celebration. The festival also connected the ruler as a human to the ruler as a god.
Lunch
Lunch will be served in a local restaurant in Luxor.
Evening option
You may join an optional sound and light show at Karnak. The show begins with a short history about Thebes and how the Karnak Temple was built. It then talks about important kings and their deeds. As you listen, the story describes the art inside Karnak and the lasting legacy of the site.
Overnight

We will leave early and head to the west bank of the Nile. You will ride in a hot-air balloon. Breakfast will be in a box. After that, your private guide will stay with you. You will also travel in a private, air-conditioned vehicle. We will go to these places:
Valley of the Kings:
This is where many rulers were buried from the 18th to the 20th dynasty. You can see tombs linked to Ramses II and also to Tutankhamen. The tombs had stores of things a ruler might want in the next life. The wall work inside is still in very good shape.
Hatshepsut Temple:
This temple is among the most lovely and well kept in all of Ancient Egypt. It sits on three levels. There are two broad ramps in the middle that connect the levels.
Colossi of Memnon:
These are two huge stone statues of Amenhotep III. They are all that is left from a larger mortuary temple. The stone is quartzite sandstone. It first existed near Cairo, then it was moved about 700 km to Luxor.
Have your lunch before we take you back to your hotel in Marsa Alam.
