05:00 AM: Hotel pick-up and transfer
You will leave the hotel and head to Kom Ombo. The drive goes through Edfu. It takes about 4 hours and 15 minutes.
Morning to mid-day: Kom Ombo Temple
You will visit the special double temple. It sits about 40 km north of Aswan.
You will learn about the site’s link to Sobek and Horus. Most of what we see today comes from the Ptolemaic and Roman times, from 332 BC to 395 AD.
12:30 PM: Lunch
Have an Egyptian lunch at a local place near the Kom Ombo temple.
01:30 PM: Edfu Temple
Next, you will go to the Edfu temple. It is known for how well it has been kept. It is dedicated to the hawk-god Horus.
You will also hear how it started in the Ptolemaic era. It was built over an older temple. That older temple began around the reign of Ptolemy III, around 246 BC. You can see the wall carvings about the Myth of the Contendings of Horus and Seth.
03:30 PM: Back to Marsa Alam
You will leave Edfu and return for the transfer to Marsa Alam.
