Your private shore excursion will begin with a drive to the Alexandria National Museum from Alexandria Port accompanied by one of our tour guides. I am looking forward to guiding you through this visit. This tour will be enriched by visits to historical sites in Alexandria and you will have plenty of time to explore the History of Egypt on your own.
First you will visit the Al-Saad Bassili Palace, built in 1923 which houses a museum that tells the history of the people of Alexandria through antiquity the Middle Ages and the Modern Period.
The beauty of Alexandria has recently been restored thanks to underwater excavations. These excavations have uncovered a wealth of artifacts from antiquity many of which're now on display in Alexandria.
The Pharaonic collection spans a range of periods and includes items from the Old, Middle and New Kingdoms. One of the highlights is a replica of a tomb from the Valley of the Kings on the West Bank at Luxor also known as Thebes, which includes a mummy along with genuine funerary items.
The last floor of the museum features a range of objects from Egypts two most prominent religious traditions, as well as a section devoted to the former royal family of Egypt. I think this floor will capture the interest of visitors of all interests and backgrounds.
After your visit to the museum your tour will continue with a drive along the Mediterranean coast to the Montazah Palace Gardens, which feature 115 acres of lush gardens surrounded by impressive walls on three sides. Within these walls you will see the exterior of the Montaza Palace built in 1932 by King Fouad and inherited by his son King Farouk. As you drive through the gardens photo stops will be made along the way. I hope you enjoy the drive.
At the end of your tour we will take you back, to the port of Alexandria, where you can catch your ship.
