Later, you will see the Great Sphinx. It sits on a lower level and looks out as a protector of the Necropolis. Then you will enter the Valley Temple and the Mummification area of King Chephren.

The largest Roman cemetery in Egypt is the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa. This place has three layers of tombs and chambers carved into rock below the ground. The burial of a romanized Egyptian family is beautifully decorated. After that you will visit Pompey’s Pillar, the remaining pillar from the Roman temple once called the Serapeum. Next you will move to the Citadel of Qaitbey. The Citadel of Qaitbey was built by Mamluk rulers to defend the Mediterranean seacoast from the Ottomans. The Citadel of Qaitbey stands on the spot where Alexandria’s ancient lighthouse once stood one of the seven wonders of the ancient world that no longer exist.

You will also be impressed by the Bibliotheca of Alexandria. The Bibliotheca of Alexandria was not an important ancient library but also a centre of learning and scientific research in the ancient world. The Bibliotheca of Alexandria was a destination for scholars from over the Mediterranean and beyond. The Bibliotheca of Alexandria contains eight million books. The new Bibliotheca of Alexandria is the important modern project in Alexandria built along the sea boulevard and it looks like the sun of knowledge rises upon the Mediterranean from Alexandria.

The car will also take you to the Church of San Marco one of the churches in Africa. The car will also take you to the center of Alexandria, where you can enjoy a stroll through the old town. In the center of Alexandria you will see local markets that sell everything and anything including sweets and traditional Egyptian delicacies.

The architecture features Baroque designs as well as Italian and French‑style properties. We will take you through the market area in Mansheya and you will see the traditional women’s markets called Zan'et Elsetat with very thin and narrow streets. The gold market also exists here where everyone buys jewelry for marriage and engagement.

The car will then take you to the beautiful and largest mosque in the city the Abbo Elabbas Mosque. The strangest sight there is an old funfair where children play on age‑old carousels and eat cotton candy. Opposite the Corniche and the old port you can see old fishing boats, fishermen and traditional fishermen making nets. The photos taken there are amazing.

After lunch our tour guide will lead you back to Alexandria port after the sightseeing tour. You will be dropped off at the cruise ship, inside Alexandria Port.
