Day 1:
Alexandria City Tour from Alexandria Port

A guide and driver will meet you at Alexandria Port, near the cruise exit door. Then you will start a full day tour around Alexandria, including Pompey’s Pillar. The pillar was built to honor Emperor Diocletian, toward the end of the 4th century. It originally came from the Temple of Serapis. At one time, it stood as a major landmark, with a scale that matched other famous structures.

Next, you will visit the Catacombs. They are the largest Roman cemetery. The site has three levels carved into the rock.

After that, you will have lunch at a local restaurant in Alexandria. Then you will go to Qaitbay Citadel. It was built on the location of an older pharaoh era lighthouse from Alexandria. Afterward, you will visit the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

At the end of the day, you will be taken back to your cruise ship at Alexandria Port.
