Valley of the Kings

The miraculous Valley of the Kings is located on the heart of a hill deep on the west bank of the Nile opposite Luxor. It lies within the heart of the Theban Necropolis. Contains 63 royal tombs belonging to the greatest Pharaohs of the 18th, 19th and 20th dynasties of the New Kingdom (1570 – 1050 BC). Among them are Ramses the Great, Hatshepsut, Seti I, Tutankhamen and many others. The valley is famous for the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun. In 1979 it became a World Heritage Site, along with the rest of the Theban Necropolis.

Hatshepsut Temple

The Hatshepsut Temple (1507–1458 BC) was carved by hand over 15 years across the mountain hills of Deir El Bahari. It was opened to the public in 1479 BC. This temple was built to honor the blessings of the creator sun god Amun and to showcase the legacy of Hatshepsut, one of the most successful pharaohs in ancient Egypt. It is among the well-preserved architectural monuments in the world.

Colossi of Memnon

The Colossi of Memnon built for Pharaoh Amenhotep III (1386 – 1349 BC) is a colossal masterpiece created around 1350 BC in Cairo. These statues have stood the test of time. Were renovated many times especially during the Greco-Roman period. They became famous for the Vocal Phenomenon a mysterious sound said to emanate from one of the statues at dawn. Across both statues are decorations that depict the history of the great Pharaoh, his family and images of the god Hapi.

Lunch Time

Then move to have your lunch on an island. Your tour includes a boat trip on the Nile River followed by a guided tour to:

Karnak Temple

The Karnak temple complex is a symbol of the power of faith and religious dedication of the Egyptians. It became the religious complex in the world. The important section was built between 2000 BC and 30 BC spanning the Middle Kingdom to the Greco-Roman period across 247 acres of land. It features temples and shrines dedicated to various gods. For over 1500 years it served as the place of worship, for the Theban triad—Amun, Mut and Khonsu.
