Itinerary

Day 1:
Valley of the Kings & West Bank Tour

Your Valley of the Kings & West Bank Tour will begin with a transfer from your Luxor hotel to the West Bank by private air-conditioned vehicle to visit the most celebrated ancient sites of Egypt. You will visit the famed Valley of the Kings, where the pharaohs of Egypt were interred in beautifully decorated and intricate tombs, which contain amazing hieroglyphs and ancient stories, from the tombs of kings of Egypt such as Ramesses VII and XI, Thutmose VI, Ramesses V and VI, and the King of kings, Tutankhamun's tomb.

From here, your day will take you to Hatshepsut's imposing funerary temple at Deir el-Bahari, the stunning mortuary temple of one of Egypt's strongest women pharaohs, carved into the face of Theban mountain. Finally, you will visit the mortuary temple of Mentuhotep II, one of the oldest and most significant of the early royal temples, important to the unity of Egypt.

Next you will explore the beautiful Valley of the Queens where wives and children of Pharaohs are entombed with vibrantly coloured wall paintings and intricately carved reliefs depicting aspects of ancient Egyptian life and beliefs. A notable example is Prince Khaemwaset, son of Ramesses III, Tomb, which is a wonderfully decorated and religiously focused tomb.

Lunch will be provided in a local restaurant in the course of the day to provide a respite and a full meal to allow for continuation of the search through Luxor's West bank wonders. Transfer back to your hotel to end the remarkable day.

To make the best of your Luxor day tours you should visit the east and west bank attractions such as the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, Colossal of Memnon, Karnak, and Luxor Temples.

If you don't have time in your plan for Egypt day tours, you can explore the famous attractions of Luxor in two days, but the recommended duration is three of four days.

The day in Luxor may cost from $65 to $120 per day in Luxor according to the attractions that are included in the itinerary of the day.

A one-day tour to Luxor is preferable to not visiting the city at all. Luxor's biggest attractions can be seen in a half day in Luxor east and west banks. A one-day excursion to Luxor can include visits to Hatshepsut Temple, the Valley of the Kings, and possibly one or two other monuments. The honest response is that a single day in Luxor is insufficient.

As the ruins of the Egyptian temple complexes at Karnak and Luxor are located within the contemporary city, Luxor has sometimes been referred to as the "world's greatest open-air museum".

Luxor, which is located in Upper Egypt's Nile Valley, should be seen as part of any Egypt tours. It is the beginning point of most river cruises and is referred to as "the world's largest open-air museum." It is home to several of the nation's most amazing monuments.
