A New Dynamics Travel representative will pick you up from Safaga Port at the cruise exit door. You’ll begin a 3-hour drive to Luxor, where your day tour from Safaga to Luxor starts. Your tour guide will join you. Take you to see some of Egypt’s most famous ancient sites.
First you’ll visit the Valley of the Kings. During the New Kingdom (1570 – 1050 BC) a sacred site known as the Valley of the Kings was built in the heart of a hill. The royal gates of the kings contain 63 tombs filled with artifacts and colorful decorations. These tombs belong to Pharaohs such as Ramses II, Hatshepsut, Seti I, Tutankhamen and many others.
Next is the Hatshepsut Temple. This grand and beautiful temple was constructed for Queen Hatshepsut (1507–1458 BC). Was established in 1479 BC. It was made to honor the sun god Amun and to preserve the legacy of Hatshepsut. The temple of Hatshepsut was built on the hills of Deir El Bahari and has been carefully maintained for over 15 years. Today it stands as one of the preserved examples of Egyptian architecture and archaeology.
After that you’ll see the Colossi of Memnon. These are statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III (1386. 1349 BC) and were created around 1350 BC. They are considered masterpieces of art. Over time they were rebuilt times during the Greco-Roman period. The name comes from Memnon, a figure from mythology.
Then it’s lunchtime. You’ll enjoy your meal on an island taking a break before continuing your journey.
Your day tour from Safaga to Luxor continues with a visit to the Karnak Temple. The Karnak temple complex is one of the important religious sites in ancient Egypt. It reflects the devotion and advanced building skills of the ancient Egyptians. This complex was built to honor the Theban triad—Amun, Mut and Khonsu. Construction began around 2000 BC. Continued until 30 BC covering 247 acres of sacred land. The Avenue of Sphinxes the Hypostyle Hall and the various temples within the complex are among the stunning examples of ancient Egyptian design and craftsmanship.
