A New Travel Dynamics driver will meet you at your hotel in Aswan. Then you will go to Kalabsha Temple. The site was taken apart and moved. It now stands on a hill close to the High Dam area on the Western Bank.
This temple was first built by Toutmosis II and Amenophis II in Kalabsha. That place is about 40 miles south of Aswan. Later, the temple was restored during the Roman period.
After that, you will finish the trip at the Nubian Museum. It took a long wait, but it opened in 1997.
The museum holds thousands of artifacts. Many of these items would have been lost if Lake Nasser had covered the area. The name comes from an ancient Egyptian word, Nbu, which means gold, and it links to the region’s well known gold mines.
You will also see scenes of Nubian daily life. These are shown through a set of life sized displays.
