Description

Egypt Short Breaks Fayoum, Wadi El Hitan & The White Desert

Join a thrilling 3 day desert journey in Egypt, starting close to Cairo. You will see a wide range of landforms and feel the weight of long ago history.

You start in Fayoum Oasis. First you explore Qarun Lake. Then you head to Wadi El Hitan, also known as Whale Valley. This UNESCO site holds prehistoric whale bones. Later you visit Wadi El Rayyan, where you can see real waterfalls and wide sand dunes.

Next comes the Western Desert. After the transfer to Bahariya, you set out in a 4x4. You move through the volcanic Black Desert. You pass Crystal Mountain. After that, you enter the White Desert National Park, known for its strange chalk shapes.

One night becomes the best part. You camp under a sky full of stars. The chalk figures stand all around you as the desert goes quiet.

At the end, you take one more look at the White Desert rock scenes. Then the trip ends in Bahariya Oasis. You visit English Mountain for a wide view. After that, you can soak in the natural Hot Springs. From there, you drive back to your hotel in Cairo.

Note: Your guide may change the route for your safety. This can happen if weather turns bad, a wadi becomes too hard to pass, there are issues with other guests, or a vehicle has a breakdown. We ask for your patience. We aim to cover the key stops, even if the exact order shifts.
