Itinerary

Day 1:
Start of Your Dahabiya Cruise Adventure

In Esna, a very warm welcome awaits you, and then we will proceed to take you to the Dahabiya cruise. Once on board, you check into your deluxe cabin and get the first feel of your boat. For the welcome chat in the dream lounge dining room and a refreshing drink, you will be chatting with the dynamic travel representative on the itinerary and safety information.

The Dahabiya will sail for the little town of Al-Higz, a quiet night sail with few sights of the river and dinner to enjoy prepared by the chef fresh onboard, all set with cold drinks, and then will be resting at Al-Higz while you will sleep on the River Nile overnight.

Day 2:
Sailing to El Kab and Edfu with Island Evening

Start your day by enjoying a delicious breakfast on the deck while you take in the peaceful scenery of the Nile River. Your journey will take you to the ancient city of El Kab, which you can explore by visiting its historical burial sites that contain complete hieroglyphic and carving artwork which shows early Egyptian life and religious practices.

You will return to the Dahabiya after your visit to have a peaceful lunch while you proceed to Edfu. At Edfu, you will visit the Temple of Edfu, which is dedicated to Horus and considered one of the most well-preserved temples in Egypt, as a guide explains its historical background to you.

The sailors will go to a nearby island during the evening to enjoy a barbecue dinner together with traditional music and entertainment. You will spend the night on the island while you experience the peaceful and serene environment of the Nile.

Day 3:
Explore Bisaw Island and Ancient Silsila Quarries

Begin your day on a fantastic note with a breakfast on deck as you watch the Nile pass by serenely. This will be followed by a sail to the Island of Bisaw, where all are at ease, with traditional fishing and a journey on a local boat. Lunch will be served fresh on board as sailing continues.

Explore ancient Silsila Quarries, from where sandstone was dug up to be built into temples, and marvel at the extensive remains of rock carvings and statues. Finish your day sailing gently towards another peaceful island to overnight, and enjoy a decent, relaxing dinner while soaking in the tranquility.

Day 4:
5. Exploring Kom Ombo, Daraw, and Aswan by River

Start the day with a fabulous breakfast al fresco on the deck, overlooking the little tranquil isle in the river. Boarding starts soon, heading to Kom Ombo, a colorful and serene riverside town. A visit to its famous double temple dedicated to Sobek, the god of crocodiles, and Horus, the falcon god, provides interesting insights into history and architecture.

After the visit, sail down to Daraw, a very colorful and lively city on the banks of the river. Explore the local markets where fluorescently colored spices, handcrafted products, and fresh produce resembling the culture of the entire region can be purchased.

Later would be lunch onboard while cruising to Aswan. As the sun was setting, the vessel floated into the fastening place below Aswan, overlooking the city past: the travellers enjoyed the peacefulness of the night there. And dinner would be on board.

Day 5:
End of Your Dahabiya Nile Cruise Experience

Enjoy your final breakfast on board the Dahabiya as you take in the last moments of your cruise experience. After breakfast, you will bid farewell to the crew and disembark from the vessel.

Following disembarkation, a transfer will be arranged to take you to your next destination, whether that is returning to Aswan for further exploration or continuing onward to your next adventure in Egypt.

Frequently Asked Questions

The most frequent questions people may ask about, read the following questions about Egypt tours that may answer a question in your mind.

A Dahabiya Nile cruise is a traditional-style sailing journey on the Nile aboard a small, elegant vessel inspired by the royal boats used in Egypt during the 19th century. It offers a slower, more private way to explore the Nile Valley.

Unlike large motorized Nile cruise ships, Dahabiyas are smaller, quieter, and more intimate. They provide a relaxed sailing experience, fewer passengers, personalized service, and access to smaller villages and hidden historical sites.

Most Dahabiya boats accommodate a limited number of guests, usually between 8 and 24 passengers. This creates a peaceful atmosphere with more personal attention from the crew.

Most Dahabiya cruises sail between Luxor and Aswan, with itineraries that include famous temples as well as lesser-known locations along the Nile that larger ships cannot always reach.

Depending on the itinerary, guests may visit sites such as Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple, Edfu Temple, Kom Ombo Temple, Philae Temple, and smaller archaeological sites along the riverbanks.

A Dahabiya is ideal for travelers seeking privacy, authenticity, and a slower pace. The experience focuses more on relaxation, cultural interaction, and enjoying the natural beauty of the Nile.

Yes. Most Dahabiya cruises include full-board dining with freshly prepared meals. Many focus on quality Egyptian and international cuisine using fresh local ingredients.

Yes. Their private atmosphere, romantic sailing experience, and scenic Nile views make Dahabiyas a popular choice for couples looking for a unique Egyptian getaway.

A Dahabiya cruise combines historic charm, luxury, and authentic travel. Instead of simply moving between attractions, guests experience the Nile itself—sailing quietly past villages, fields, temples, and timeless landscapes.
