Itinerary

Day 1:
Arrival in Esna & Begin Your Dahabiya Nile Journey

Upon your arrival in Esna, you will be met by a representative of Esna Travel& Transfers before being transferred to the Dahabiya cruise for check-in and cabin check-in. You will integrate the boat as you learn about onboard amenities. This is followed by the opportunity to have a refreshing drink as you are being briefed about the boat schedule and other essential guidelines.

You journey the following day toward the stunning little hamlet of El Hegz, where you enjoy dinner, prepared by the ship's chef, offering a peaceful Nile luxury backdrop in the evening. An overnight stop will then encompass luncheon and an idyllic night under the stars, listening to the calm and serenity of the Nile.

Day 2:
El Kab tombs Edfu Temple island Nile cruise tour

You should begin your morning by eating a substantial meal on the deck before you travel to El Kab to explore the ancient burial sites, which contain stunning hieroglyphic and carving displays that showcase ancient Egyptian cultural practices and funeral customs.

You will enjoy a relaxed dinner on the ship while you move toward Edfu, which you will reach after your stop at the Temple of Edfu, which contains well-preserved ancient Egyptian architecture dedicated to the falcon deity Horus, and your guide will provide details about its historical background and architectural value.

You will travel to an island located near Edfu, where you will experience a barbecue dinner that includes live traditional music and entertainment, and you will spend the night on the island while you enjoy the tranquil ambiance of the Nile.

Day 3:
Explore Bisaw Island fishing and Silsila Quarries on Nile

Start your day with a beautiful morning, which leads to breakfast on the deck before your departure to Bisaw Island. The traditional fishing excursion brings you to local boats and techniques, which you will use until your return to the Dahabiya for a fresh lunch, which continues your journey.

The afternoon begins with a trip to the ancient Silsila Quarries, which offer visitors the chance to see the sandstone extraction site and its stunning rock carvings and statues.

Your journey continues as you sail to a peaceful island where you will have dinner on the boat and spend the night in a peaceful atmosphere next to the Nile River.

Day 4:
Visit Kom Ombo Temple and Explore Daraw Local Market

Start your day with a delicious breakfast on the deck before sailing toward Kom Ombo, where you’ll visit the unique double temple dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Horus, and learn about its distinctive architecture and history.

Continue your journey to Daraw and explore its vibrant local market, famous for spices, handcrafted goods, and local produce, before returning to the Dahabiya for lunch while sailing toward Aswan. Arrive in Aswan by evening, enjoy a relaxing dinner on board, and spend the night docked in the city, experiencing its lively and welcoming atmosphere.

Frequently Asked Questions

The most frequent questions people may ask about, read the following questions about Egypt tours that may answer a question in your mind.

A Dahabiya Nile cruise is a traditional-style sailing journey on the Nile aboard a small, elegant vessel inspired by the royal boats used in Egypt during the 19th century. It offers a slower, more private way to explore the Nile Valley.

Unlike large motorized Nile cruise ships, Dahabiyas are smaller, quieter, and more intimate. They provide a relaxed sailing experience, fewer passengers, personalized service, and access to smaller villages and hidden historical sites.

Most Dahabiya boats accommodate a limited number of guests, usually between 8 and 24 passengers. This creates a peaceful atmosphere with more personal attention from the crew.

Most Dahabiya cruises sail between Luxor and Aswan, with itineraries that include famous temples as well as lesser-known locations along the Nile that larger ships cannot always reach.

Depending on the itinerary, guests may visit sites such as Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple, Edfu Temple, Kom Ombo Temple, Philae Temple, and smaller archaeological sites along the riverbanks.

A Dahabiya is ideal for travelers seeking privacy, authenticity, and a slower pace. The experience focuses more on relaxation, cultural interaction, and enjoying the natural beauty of the Nile.

Yes. Most Dahabiya cruises include full-board dining with freshly prepared meals. Many focus on quality Egyptian and international cuisine using fresh local ingredients.

Yes. Their private atmosphere, romantic sailing experience, and scenic Nile views make Dahabiyas a popular choice for couples looking for a unique Egyptian getaway.

A Dahabiya cruise combines historic charm, luxury, and authentic travel. Instead of simply moving between attractions, guests experience the Nile itself—sailing quietly past villages, fields, temples, and timeless landscapes.
